A Few Things Observed Walking from the kendall T Stop to Massachusetts Ave on a Spring Sunday:

In front of the Media Lab, one 14 year old to another as they surveyed the metal railing on the wide stairs: "So dude, do you think this would be mad easy to ollie?"

Then, a few hundred yards closer to Mass Ave, in front of the Dreyfus building, I was struck by the low, loud hum of the surrounding building' generators. I thought about what it must sound like duringa power outage in that fleeting momnet vefore the emergency generator kicks in.

For the first time in a few years, I have Marathon Monday off. BUt my girlfriend and her brother have to work - so I don't think I will trek into Boston alone. maybe if I can get some batteries for my antiquated digital camera I will go in and ake pictures of the festivities. Or mabe I will stay home and clean the house. Or maybe I will sleep and get over the remnants of my cold. Or maybe I will lounge around in my leopard smoking jacket and drink box-cars and read the New Yorker comedy issue.

Alright, I don't have a leopard smoking jacket - but if you have an extra one and would like to donate it to me - go right ahead.
